Even spell check can't help these students

I got an email from a student this afternoon. The sentence read "are ward is having the activity...."

In the lab a student turned in her lab sheet after portioning chicken and making stock. She kept referring to "chicken stalk." She probably used it 6 or 8 times on her lab sheet as she was describing how she simmered and strained her stalk.

Another wrote, "I learned how to use the emotion blender" instead of the immersion blender.

Just so you know I just used spell check to make sure everything was correct. How about just proof reading their papers?
