In the past 24 hours I have seen the following:
At the end of the street that turns onto campus (it dead ends into the walkway leading to the MC) there is a huge pile of snow. They pushed it into the center of the street and it is large (I'll bet 12 feet tall) - so large that it creates its own round-a-bout.
Two students used a bright orange flag (yes the one you use to walk safely in the cross walk) to jay walk across Main Street. They were trying to stop traffic by waving it at cars. Too bad a policeman didn't come along to give them a ticket - but would it be for jay walking or being stupid?
At a local restaurant last night I saw a male student (at a table with his wife and another married couple) finishing his salad by taking his finger and scraping the bowl, licking off the salad dressing and then repeating the process until the bowl was licked clean. Then he sat it on the table and went on with his meal.
In the store parking lot last night a guy pulled out with snow covering every window so he could not see. I'm glad he wasn't following me.
A person parked their car behind ours in that same parking lot in a place that was not a parking stall. If a car had pulled into the parking space facing our car (that was a parking place) while we were in the store, we would have been boxed in and couldn't back out or pull forward to leave.
And...
The city has been put on the 2011 Idaho Report for Government Waste for its "careless and uncalled for wasteful spending" because of the $5.36 million aquatic facility (funded by a bond that would require more than 4,500 kids paying $5 each to come to the pool everyday for 3 months just to break even - but that does not include paying back the bond). Way to go mayor and city council.
