A New Day Begins at BYU-Idaho

Today begins an adventure we could have never dreamed up ourselves. We have known about this new appointment since the last week of June and have been waiting for the Board of Trustrees from the univeristy to meet and then the official announcement made. Here is the official press release that appreared on the home page of the university, our local paper and on the news. Bruce is over in the Kimball Building (the administration building, in the executive suite of offices) unpacking his office this morning. Can you believe this?

Bruce Kusch named BYU-Idaho associate academic vice president

Bruce Kusch, a member of the Department of Business Management at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg, has been named the new associate academic vice president for curriculum.

He replaces Roy Huff, who served in the position for nearly five years. Huff has accepted a one-year teaching position at the Brigham Young University Jerusalem Center in Israel.

Kusch, who has taught at BYU-Idaho since 2002, has helped to design courses in the Department of Business Management, and taught courses in sales, negotiations, global marketing, international business and business strategy.

Prior to joining BYU-Idaho, he worked in the high technology industry in Silicon Valley, California, as a sales and marketing executive for Hitachi America, Logitech and IBM. He also worked as a consultant in areas of strategic management and supply chain management.

Kusch earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of DeVry University. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in instructional design at Idaho State University with an anticipated graduation date in 2010.

Kusch lives in Rexburg and serves as the stake president of the BYU-Idaho LDS Third Stake.
