Bruce Kusch Kusch Fills Top Academic Spot at LDS Business College
Salt Lake City, Utah – February 19, 2016 – LDS Business College has tapped an international business and online education leader for its top academic position. Bruce C. Kusch, formerly of BYU-Idaho, has been hired as Chief Academic Officer.
“Dr. Kusch's skill set will significantly help us as we move forward with our growth initiatives,” said J. Lawrence Richards, College president. “He was unanimously and energetically approved by the Board of Education on Feb. 10. We welcome him to our team.”
Dr. Kusch is not new to academia. He is the current Associate Dean of Online Programs at BYU-Idaho and a faculty member for business management. He previously served as Associate Academic Vice President, Curriculum. He holds a Ph.D. in instructional design from Idaho State University.
Having served in high-tech and strategic management positions in the United States as well as in Asia and Mexico, President Richards said Dr. Kusch has valuable industry experience to help guide the College’s focus on skills-based educational programs.
Dr. Kusch was president of the LDS Mexico Cuernavaca Mission where he served with his wife, Alynda, from 2012 to 2015. They are the parents of four children.
LDS Business College helps students achieve self-reliance in a Christ-centered environment. The College teaches 2,200 students each semester and awards two-year associate degrees or one-year certificates. The College trains hundreds more with shorter online courses. Nearly 90 percent obtain a job in the field in which they are trained within 90 days of graduation.
