Déjá Vu All Over Again

Last week the Missionary Travel Department called to tell us that we had to make a personal appearance at the Mexican Consulate (either in Boise or Salt Lake) to get our visas.  They told us that we would be at the Consulate about an hour to sign 3 documents, get finger printed, and have our pictures taken.  They sent our flight itinerary and we opted to rent a car in Salt Lake rather than have the Salt Lake Mission drive us around.

We arrived in Salt Lake, picked up our car and were headed to the Consulate.  Bruce's phone rang and it was Diane at Missionary Travel to say that they had been really busy in the morning so we should come at 3;00 instead of our 1:30 appointed time.  Okay - we went to Costco and splurged for the $1.50 hot dog and drink lunch and then just waited until 3.  When we got there, the 3:00 return time from lunch turned into more like 3:25 and Diane was there to meet us.  She went to talk to the people responsible for the visas and we heard the dreaded words, "We're sorry."

Turns out the reason we could not make our original appointment was because their computers were down and they had hoped they would be back up and running by 3:00.  Not so.  They asked us to come back on Monday.  What?

Here is the schedule for this week:

Monday - fly to Salt Lake for visas (we have been assured that this time we WILL get our visas) and then fly back - we get home about 10 pm
Tuesday - drive back to Salt Lake with Jen and Brett so we can meet Tami and Steve, Ade, and Aaron.  Have lunch with the Warner kids and say goodbye to them.  Have dinner with our kids and Shelly and Sam and Arlene.  Stay in Salt Lake that night.
Wednesday - be set apart by Elder Bednar, have lunch with the kids and say goodbye to Aaron and Tami and Steve
Thursday - the movers come (yes we have been sorting our clothes, books, toiletries, etc into 2 piles, the ones we pack in our suitcases and take with us to the MTC and then on to Mexico, and one that the movers will take and we will see again sometime 2-3 weeks after we get to Cuernavaca)
Friday - my last day of teaching and we say goodbye to the little kids here
Saturday - we finish packing up the downstairs and get everything else into storage

It's getting close!
