Today we can finally say where we have been assigned. We received our letter with our assignment on Monday and we opened it with a Skype call to all of our kids. Jen and Brett came here and then we had Bruce's, Jen's, and my Ipads lined up on the kitchen counter with a family on each one. It was great.
We are going to Curenavaca Mexico (land of the eternal spring). It is a city of about 850,000, just a bit larger than Rexburg, and is 55 miles southwest of Mexico City. The mission was created in 2006 and that is when the mission home was built. We have seen a picture of it and a set of floor plans and are hoping that when we talk to the outgoing president we will be able to receive some additional photos. I used Google Earth to find it, but I think the file is older than the house and what I am seeing is an open field. In any event it is in an area of the city where there are gated homes with swimming pools and tennis courts - I don't think we're getting either of those however :).
Taxco is in the mission - the silver capital of the world, and so is Acapulco (we have about 200 miles of coastline). We have talked to several people who have been to Cuernavaca and they saw that it is the most beautiful city in Mexico. Aaron's friend, David, served there and said it was heaven. You can Google the city and see some of the ruins that are nearby and some of the beautiful people we will be meeting.
We are excited!! So - update your passports and come and see us. Our kids were all hoping for a vacation destination and they are all planning to make a trip to Cuernavaca sometime while we are there.

This is so exciting. It looks so beautiful! You both are going to be amazing. We are just going to miss you this summer. You know we have all have our passports!
