Bruce and I were able to go to Southern California for a few days last week to see my mother, other family and friends and to see the play "Wicked." The theater is at Hollywood and Vine for all of you old Californians and the play was amazing! Although my mom is frail (she's 85) and easily confused, it was good to spend a few days with her. She wanted me to cook for her while I was there, no small feat when you realize she has only a microwave and toaster oven. I had to get creative, interesting. Sue Brown came for dinner on Wednesday - why didn't we get a picture Sue? It was great to catch up on old times and I am going to hold her to the statement she made that she will come up to the Berg before too long! Here are Heather and Troy and their kids. They have a really cute house and the children are adorable. Troy is holding Amelia, then Sammie, Emma, Heather and Josh. It was so good to be in their home and eat yummy food. The dessert Troy made from pomegranates was amazing!
Doesn't Shirleen look wonderful? She sounds like her old self and we had the best visit with them. They came to Heather's and brought delicious chicken and cookies. We had a wonderful time laughing and telling stories.
This is what we came home to. This is taken through the screen door to the deck because there is so much snow I couldn't open it up. The weathermen in LA kept saying that it was going to be cold - only a high of 62. Are you kidding me? I wish I'd have had my capris to wear and I had to go and buy flip flops!
